Madrid District 12: Usera |
| Madrid - Madrid Districts | |||
The district was created in municipal restructuring that took place on March 28th of 1987. The district takes its name from the Usera neighborhood, north of the district. This neighborhood has its origin in land situated north of the municipality of Villaverde that belonged to a wealthy farmer of that town: "Uncle Sordillos." A farmer's daughter married the Colonel Marcelo Usera. This officer and businessman stated that the construction of these areas would be more profitable than growing, so between 1925 and 1930 he proceeded to subdivision and sale. In Usera District you will find the following neighborhoods: Orcasitas, Orcasur, San Fermín, Almendrales, Moscardó, Zofío and Pradolongo. Madrid - Usera photo gallery © Flickr
